I mean, the looks aren't an important part of sex appeal for everyone. I imagined Tali having hotties for Shepard's personality, voice, drive, conviction, authority and all that. And I imagined Shepard was falling for Tali's cute naivish nature, insecurities and, um, at the nice curves of her exosuit.
I guess part of why I imagined things going down that way is that there was no similiar attraction in ME1.
