When is greensboro christmas parade 2011

We spend time together, we eat and we exchange gifts. Then we hop back in the car and drive back home trying to get home in time to put out the milk and cookies for Santa. On the way home we each count the houses only on your side of the car who have on Christmas lights.

We then see who counts the most. Before heading off to bed, my husband will read us the Christmas Story from the Bible.

Afterall, that is what it is all about. I hope that we are making special memories for our children to remember for a lifetime. The 4th generation tradition of making homemade candies to give to friends and family. The annual weekend is next week. There is lots of fun and laughter and, at the same time, my sibs and families get to spend precious time together. My family has a lot of Christmas traditions. Decorating the house!! We make it a big deal. We turn on Christmas music, have hot chocolate and decorate until we drop!

It really seems like the holidays then. We go to Tanglewood to see the lights. I can remember my sister and I dressing in our pajamas to go see the lights! We take hot chocolate and snacks and have so much fun! I love all of the events leading up to Christmas.

I enjoy watching Christmas movies with my family while the fire is burning and we are enjoying hot chocolate. I enjoy going to the Christmas parades. I just enjoy the anticipation of what is to come on Christmas. I even enjoy decorating the Christmas tree and thinking about where we got each ornament or who made it.

The whole season is magical and I wish it could last longer! I do it every Thanksgiving weekend. They turned their lot into a Christmas wonderland. We take the kids back to the downtown area now where the displays are preserved at the museum of Portsmouth. Christmas Eve my family opens one gift each. Our favorite family Christmas tradition is going to candle light church service on Christmas Eve and then coming home to a festive, lit tree and enjoying cookies and cocoa while listening to various Christmas music until we all get sleepy.

Every Christmas I rescue one or more animals from bad homes and nurse them back to health if they have problems. This is such a rewarding experience because it means that every Christmas, I get to spend it with my family, my friends, and both my new and older furry friends.

Our Christmas morning begins with early stocking openings followed by a plate of hot bagels, cold lox and even colder champagne. It always includes sweet rice and coconut milk. Here in America, my family does Christmas Eve birthday party for my daughter followed by a good dose of Chinese food and a great movie on Christmas Day. Every year on Christmas eve we watch a Christmas story all night after going to our family reunion.

My favorite Christmas tradition is one that was started by Mom and Dad when they first got married. We go to the Candle Tea in Old Salem every year. Floats built by local businesses and organizations around the "Christmas of Hope" theme were.

Also featured in the parade were decorated vehicles, the Central High School and Bryant High School marching bands and various costumed characters. Santa Claus rode in at the end of the parade with a new addition to his sleigh: a pair of houndstooth ribbons on the sides. The tree-lighting ceremony, usually accompanied by caroling and an appearance by Santa Claus, was canceled due to rain.

Tuscaloosa County Probate Judge Hardy McCollum lit the tree in front of a few families that arrived early for the parade. McCollum said that this year was the first time the tree lighting has been canceled. The foot tree was given by an anonymous donor in memory of victims of the April storm.
